Primary Pauline texts on Justify converted to “Considered as Covenant member”

Easy to convert last blog post topic-on verses on justification and see what it will show and prove-so here “Justify” and it English semantic fields-converted to “Considered as Covenant Member”:

Romans 2

13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be Considered as Covenant member.

Romans 3

4 By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, “That you may be Considered as Covenant member in your words, and prevail when you are judged.”

20 For by works of the law no human being will be Considered as Covenant member in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

24 and are Considered as Covenant member by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the Considered as Covenant member of the one who has faith in Jesus.

28 For we hold that one is Considered as Covenant member by faith apart from works of the law.

30 since God is one—who will Considered as Covenant member the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

Romans 4

2 For if Abraham was Considered as Covenant member by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who Considered as Covenant member the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,

25 who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our “Considered as Covenant memberication”.

Romans 5

1 Therefore, since we have been Considered as Covenant member by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Since, therefore, we have now been Considered as Covenant member by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought Considered as Covenant memberication.

18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to Considered as Covenant memberication and life for all men.

Romans 8

30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also Considered as Covenant member, and those whom he Considered as Covenant member he also glorified.

33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who Considered as Covenant member.

Romans 10

10 For with the heart one believes and is Considered as Covenant member, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

1 Corinthians 6

11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were Considered as Covenant member in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 2

16 yet we know that a person is not Considered as Covenant member by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be Considered as Covenant member by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be Considered as Covenant member.

17 But if, in our endeavor to be Considered as Covenant member in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!

Galatians 3

8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would Considered as Covenant member the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

11 Now it is evident that no one is Considered as Covenant member before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.”

24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be Considered as Covenant member by faith.

Galatians 5

4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be Considered as Covenant member by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

Titus 3

7 so that being Considered as Covenant member by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Traditionally -those justified in Christ are considered as members of the Covenant community-so the ‘Old’ Paul is not deficient here-but now Justification is now exclusively -covenant membership-a horizontal relationship-when the original doctrine is about our vertical deficiency towards God Himself.

Primary Pauline texts on Justification

For those evangelical pastors enamored with New Perspective on Paul as taught by Dunn, Sanders and especially N.T. Wright I am pasting the primary texts of Apostle Paul on justification:

Romans 2

13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.

Romans 3

4 By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, “That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged.”

20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.

24 and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law.

30 since God is one—who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

Romans 4

2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,

25 who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

Romans 5

1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

16 And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification.

18 Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men.

Romans 8

30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

33 Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

Romans 10

10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

1 Corinthians 6

11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Galatians 2

16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!

Galatians 3

8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

11 Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.”

24 So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith.

Galatians 5

4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

Titus 3

7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Try reading those verses and see if it is not about personal salvation and instead about membership in the covenant which the NPP are espousing. Was it just about boundary markers -like circumcision, Sabbath-keeping, food laws that justification is addressing against about- or was it all works-righteousness that men tries to replace Jesus Christ?
